Woke up to the sound of a school bus gathering children this morning.
Even though the first day of Fall is about just shy of a full month away, school busses shout Fall to me. Feel me?? My husband hadn't heard the bus when I asked him, but he did have more of a PTSD response to it. Ha! If you've been reading my Whispers long enough, (and for those who have, thank you so much) you know how much I enjoy transitions, both on and off the mat. While they are certainly not easy, they are what allows us growth. Growth begins with an awareness, quickly followed by a willingness. And perhaps it's even more important to add a sprinkle of awe and wonder. We really do have to be intentional for it. Like cleaning out a child's bedroom as they years go by, disposing of things no longer used, needed or appreciated in order to make room physically as well as psychologically for a new season with new stuff, new thinking and the recipe for growth. So why in the world do we often default to the clinging and gripping of old stuff and yet expect and hope for something else (growth), let alone even have room for it? Old thinking, old patterns, beliefs that keep us stuck about ourselves and others can keep us ultimately from growing, evolving and life with awe and wonder toward experiencing a little more joy and a little more connectedness with ourselves and the world around us. When we do, we enjoy positive effects on our well being. Welcome to living your beautiful yoga.
