My children have grown up and past their school years at home, nonetheless, for me, August will forever mark the end of “summer vacation” and the beginning of potential toward something exciting and new. As adults, we can lose our childlike curious quality. What if instead, we kept asking questions? What can we notice that we haven't before? Where can I anticipate new awarenesses, refreshment for continued growth even in a yoga practice with postures I've done perhaps dozens and dozens of times? In yoga asana, we use our bodies to create shapes that helping to bring awareness, curiousity about ourselves through ourselves and as our bodies change every day, there's always something new to discover and to absolutely celebrate!
One small shift to a curious and open mindset and you can begin to cultivate a calmer and kinder you in these last dog days of summer. As leaves begin to change color and the autumn sun leaves longer shadows, can you hear a kinder inner voice whispering, ushering you into a new season? It's time to begin discovering again. Yoga is a beautiful access point.
