Make energy and protect it!

December is here! Happy magical month with things that sparkle and shine, light displays for dark nights and family and friends' gatherings. It's also a time of frantic. We all know what that is, no description necessary. We want to find ease and yet the frantic keeps us from it. We want to self care,  https://www.theodysseyonline.com/25-ways-to-practice-self-care, but there are so many people and needs to help take care of. We want to be and feel healthy and whole and often we are left fragmented and sick. Ehh.

This month, yoga on willow🌿
http://yogaonwillow.com will be devoted to the practice of intentional slowing the heck down. We got this! We will also be moving a lot. Wait. What? With soooooo much we have to think about and orchestrate, the last thing we need is our yoga class to be another cerebral excursion. We appreciate you December, but we need a thinking break. There will be plenty of time to break down poses, perfect our postures and reach for new heights...and depths. For now, we are going to move our bodies. We will flow a bit more in Gentle Flow classes for as we move, we create energy. Energy keeps our bodies mobile, a bit warmer (brrrrrr winter) with better circulation and organ function. We feel and think better. As we create good energy we also want to protect it. Like the breath we cultivate in class that's rich and full, it also needs to be sustaining. When we move our bodies and release tension, we do a better job of choosing where to expend our beautiful energy. Part of a winter ease and wellness is our connecting to it. Go outside. Even from an indoor window, take notice how nature slows. Make moments each day to mimic it. Nature turns inward in order to protect energy for the spring forth Springtime. We will get to those Spring workouts and it's going to be a blast but for now, let's do winter. Welcome December and the taking care of our energy.
