Mindful Moment this week ...maybe make it two.

As we prepare to come together with family and friends this week we know gratitude in that. Perhaps we also take a bit of time for connecting to ourselves, off the mat. For me, it's when the pace quickens, I need that moment the most and yet it's often what goes by the wayside. Maybe this week, this year, we set intention to set out a bit differently. We take in a sense of renewal from the pace shift and change rather than feeling conflict. Fall certainly teaches us that change can be extraordinarily beautiful.

1

Take a walk or go for a run and instead of jamming out to favorite tunes or podcasting out, you reflect on what you see. Notice the season in the trees, sidewalks and front porches. Feel your feet find the ground and know security on the earth. Feel the breeze on your face. Let your mind wander until it finds your breath again. Feel your breath coming into your body, filling it with energy and life. Exhale and feel the relief in the surrender. Be intentional with your hands. Place them mindfully. Open up your chest and heart center and take in some deep full breaths.

2

Make a cup of your favorite hot beverage. Place it before you. Sit down. Breathe. Notice the mug, the color, the smoothness of its glaze, the craftsmanship of all of it. Breathe. Notice the liquid inside and the steam lifting off of it, releasing aroma for your nose to take in. Breathe it in. Find gratitude in the cup of your favorite beverage you are privileged to enjoy in this very moment. Hold the mug and feel its warmth, the smoothness of the vessel. Breathe. Take in a sip and taste it. What does it taste like? Is it sweet or savory? How does the temperature feel on your lips and in your mouth? Feel your swallow down your throat. Close your eyes, breathe and know gratitude.

Peace & Blessings,
Jill
