Creating new habits & positive change
This week I've been thinking about the concept of making positive change. I did a bit of research and found making positive change is really hard. We all have things in our lives that we'd like to change, but sadly, many of us don't. I see a challenge coming on! I don't like thinking of myself as "many of us." I want to live with more intention toward my life. Anyone? I also discovered it's gratitude that fuels us toward making the positive change we desire. To cultivate an attitude of gratitude, we need practice feeling the moment of the present. And quite honestly, to feel any moment requires us to SLOW down. Our fast paced living is not helping us to feel grateful. It's not really helping us feel much of anything except stress and tension and negative conversations with ourselves about whether we'll ever be "enough" and maybe that's what we want to change the most!
Gratitude is a state of mind & body. We need to hold space for it.
Gratitude affects our brain, and body chemistry in super healthy ways.
Gratitude allows us ability to articulate and have clearer understanding of our values, and what matters most.
Gratitude moves us to investing in our future selves.
Gratitude makes it easier for us to be brave.
Gratitude encourages choices that reflect better choices.
In a gratitude state of mind & body, we are better able to cultivate positive change.
We cultivate a gratitude state of mind & body this week and every week at yoga on willow. Come on in and enjoy a class. Walk-ins are always welcome. Make space to SLOW down to feel the moment of the present in your body and mind. Gratitude is sure to follow. :)
with love,
Jill
