What’s your Y?

Y do you come to the mat and practice yoga? We find a sense of grounding and centering when we return to our Y. Intention settles us in the here and now and also propels us forward. Our Y brings us to appreciate the privilege it is to aspire. There is gratitude in the journey. And yoga reminds us that it's all a beautiful journey. There is goodness in the reach. When we step onto our mats, we find ourselves perfectly present and open to discovery. We remind ourselves and remember our Y.

Y am I a yoga teacher? It's really hard. I teach yoga because of all the good things yoga gives ME; I want to share it with others. My faith and my yoga infiltrate every aspect of my life in the very best way. Yoga has made me a better human. It has made me fiercely strong and fiercely gentle. It makes me appreciate all of what I can achieve and get a little better at letting go of what I can't. It makes my body move well and my mind calmer. Amen! It reminds me that chronic aches and pains do not have to be a part of getting older. It reminds me that our highly stressful lives can be managed and wholeness restored from fragment living.  It reminds me that I get to show up for myself and when I do, I have so much more to give to others. Yoga helps me love who I am, even with so many faults, and is a constant reminder that this journey is a never ending one as a student first. I learn every day and want to share what I discover with YOU. Teaching yoga is hard, but sharing is my why.
I hope you will share your Y with me and together we do this! I am so excited for us!

The trees are whispering to me, reminding me of my roots, and my reach...shhhh...can you hear them? Selflessly sharing their subtle song.    - Jeb Dickerson
