Her seasons remind of our own. Each year the garden is different. No, I'm not digging out trees and mature shrubs, but the nuances are ever changing. My garden is affected by the storms, damaging winds, odd temperatures at odd times. Long days of sun and days of none, she endures wet and soggy, parched and dry. She continues to push growth after rabbits enjoy lunching. Sometimes our bulbs and plants can't undo what the moles outdo. We plant again. We change. We grow. We adapt. We are better. Our yoga practice brings us moment. We are in our bodies and minds and spirits as they are. And yet, as they are, they are ever-changing. With each practice, wisdom is found. Nuance. Refinement. We are part of nature. So, yea. April showers bring May flowers. And this April is different than the last one both in nature and in ourselves. (Understatement. I digress.)
This April we have been bringing awareness of our center to the center of our practice and giving listen to our strength. Our strength is our resiliency and our push toward adaptability and nuance. Each time we come to the mat, we become more curious about our center. Sometimes it's our physical core strength in holding plank or lowering slowly into chattarunga with control over our strength, we take notice to. Sometimes it's our heart's strengthening as we process heartache to discover resiliency and hope. Always, the very center of us is breath, we learn to control it when we quiet ourselves into it. Our core is always where movement is initiated and controlled and in the subtle body, our core houses our solar plexus Chakra associated with fire. It's our energy, strength, will and mastery. In a balanced Sacral Chakra we balance will power with surrender. Nuance.
