Let’s make room for a view.
Covid-19 pulled up to the world train station and made certain we all got on. Blindsided, the whole wide world climbed aboard. We really are all in this together and truthfully what that means, means a journey without choice, except in our attitudes about this ride. We decide the speed that feels best for us in order to make necessary adjustments. It's never been full speed ahead for me. It's like I'm driving with both feet accelerating and braking multiple times a day! We also choose when we're ready to look out the window in hopes of discovering a whole new beautiful view. This is a month of transition for many of us. Hello August. Even though back to school is different this year, transition still happens, and perhaps more acutely, certainly in new and very different ways. Nature continues to move through seasons and reminds us of summer's end. Football has always been Fall for me. I grew up in a small town in upstate NY where little boys played football and never stopped when they became men. Without football this fall, and a child staying home from college, studying on line, the edges of transition feel a bit sharper for me. I can choose to take on that edge too, or look out the window and in anticipation, find ways to smooth out those edges. What are those things you've discovered on this train, that bring you peace? I'd like to hear what it is for you. Where do you find and feel joy? How do you take notice a new? As you do, you are growing resiliency and creativity. You are living well, even on this mandatory train ride. We are more remarkable than we know.
