Election, Thanksgiving and Light

The fact that our nation's elections take place in the very same month as we celebrate the harvest of Thanksgiving, hmmmm, a ponder.

There's blessing that flows when we focus not on what divides us, but on what unites us.

First, we must learn to live in unity, in peace with our own selves. We begin to experience peace in the pause of our breath and in the intention of mindful movement, connect to ourselves as the doer and the observer. Our nervous systems settle into more rest and less stress and we begin to notice there is always connection, goodness and beauty. It's when we notice, we begin to change.

The holiday season is underway and as our schedules begin to fill to overflow, we can let our yoga practice slide. If we're not careful, that trajectory can take us away from our practice altogether. In the name of saving time for holiday obligations, we end up feeling off balance and way more stressed. Wouldn't it feel amazing to feel amazing through the holidays?! Movement is medicine. Yoga connects us to our healing, wholeness and impacts us positively in the way we move through the world...and celebrate the holidays. Let's stay in community with one another and allow for our best selves in this month of gratitude. Connect to deeper health. Yoga transforms our bodies for optimal organ function, better autonomic nervous system response, stronger muscles and joints, a calmer more resilient brain and better posture supporting all of it. With less daylight lit hours, we can begin to feel more sluggish, but did you know when we move our bodies and especially when we move in unison with others, we not only create energy but we also have more joy?! We make our own light!
