If We Had No Winter… ~ Ann Bradstreet
Now that warmer temps and sunshine have made their way to stay in the Pacific Northwest, yay, yay, yay; I notice how much more energy I have to do the things I love doing. Sunshine is energizing and vitamin D is for real! The more I move my body, the more energy I have to keep moving. Moving is one thing, moving well is entirely another.
Our asana practice brings us awareness to the way we move, the ways we compensate for tight muscles, the way we lean into and overwork the strong ones. We tune inwards to discover and find outward expression. Autopilot moving (and living) ends here. WIth both hands on the helm, colors become brighter, lines of distinction become clearer and we become skillful. We begin to connect into the ways of our being and discover new skills in order to allow our bodies and our minds the release of tightness, gripping and compensation. We begin to gain access in how to activate musculature to get stronger and better aligned. We become more energetic, open and capable to a life that's more vivid and colorful. We begin to embody fluidity, mobility and strength. Yoga is awesome!
