A new month.

I always like a fresh start. Anyone? Clear the cobwebs (Happy October!) and bring on a fresh perspective. Hope, possibility, let's go! Even in these obscure days and perhaps even more-so, I need to know there are good things ahead. When I feel myself getting restless, I can almost guarantee I'm on the verge of something new about to begin. It's always in the uncomfortable, where a shift happens and we grow and change. These days are quite the invitation!! I'm in!!

Where do you want to see your invitation this month? What are you discovering that brings you joy? Peace? Can you do more of that? I love my new water bottle sticker "Stay close to people who feel like sunshine." While we will have at least a few more weeks of sunny days, sunshiney people just might be that joy in the grey days ahead. Even in a masked off world, we can "stay close." Perhaps this month, you are wanting to create calm and set a tone gilded with ease to serve you through the holiday months around the corner. Maybe it's a time for reflection and journaling as we enter the last quarter of "what a year." Most people I've talked with have experienced unique and special awarenesses, heart felt gratitude because of the shifts we've had to make from life during this pandemic. What can we forget and what do we want to never forget? There's your journal prompt.

I'm so happy to be back teaching in-person classes at Yoga on Willow. My studio is small and clean! We're wearing masks and maintaining proper social distancing. Weather allowing, we've got our large garage door open for fresh air. I've an abbreviated class schedule for now, which may or may not work with your schedule. Please know, your feedback on the class times you want helps me with scheduling classes. BIG thank you to those who've already given me their preferences. While I'm teaching 3 classes/week, my hope is to add more as we go. I'm also available to book time slots for small group classes of at least 4 students. So, let me know if this interests you.

I understand many people feel all sorts of "not enough" and find walking into a yoga studio intimidating, to say the least. It's really different at Yoga on Willow. We have a small and really-nice-people community. We practice yoga in our own individual way, together. The studio is a partition inside of a workout gym. It's one of the things about the space I love the most. The vibe is casual and unpretentious. We have students who've been practicing yoga for years and students who've practiced a handful of times. We also have students who've returned to the practice after life took them away for a time. Each class has a sprinkling of each of us and each class I teach is accessible for most bodies. We all come with our strengths and limits and learn to honor both. We support one another and like each other. It's truly a safe place and a welcoming bunch of people. If you've been on the fence to try a class, I want to encourage you. With this brand new month, maybe you give yourself this brand new something new.
